Sheyenne + Joe

Sheyenne and Joe got married at the White Raven in Alberton, Montana. Him being the avid outdoorsman and she the lover of mountains, and their mutual longing to be back in them again led them to this beautiful venue. The White Raven sits nestled in the picturesque mountains, just south of the Clark Fork River. With cabins on site, a large reception hall, bar, honeymoon cottage and well designed outdoor space this was the perfect place to bring family and friends from all over to celebrate.

Their fathers have been friends since Sheyenne and Joe were kids and it was because of this these two ended up meeting. Sheyenne was a wildland firefighter when they first met and came home one day when Joe was at her house with the family. It’s safe to say, being the firecracker that she is, that sparks flew the first time they met. After that initial chance meeting she just couldn’t get him off her mind. She kept asking her dad for his number and finally, realizing she was very keen on Joe, her dad gave it to her. The rest is history. These two are so sweet and down to earth. They have a huge passion for the outdoors and even decorated their reception hall tables and floral arrangements with pheasant feathers that Joe has collected from his hunting adventures. They put together all of the reception space details over many months and it wasn’t until the day of the wedding that they got to see the magic of it all come together. I never would have guessed! It was all so classy and well thought out. Photos of them and their adoring pooches lined the reception space and they had the most alluring dried flowers from Melissa at Earth Within Flowers.

The chose to have their intimate ceremony in the woods with the views of the mountains in the background and a custom decorated arbor also by Earth Within Flowers. This magical August day was for many of the bridal party and other attendees their first time in Montana and it did not disappoint! Everyone kept talking about how beautiful everything came together and how happy they were to be part of the day. We ended the day with a drive to the nearby Clark Fork River and got some amazing portraits at the rocky beach as the sun set.
